The Railroad Prayer Network is a new prayer
initiative that is being introduced. An International Day of Prayer for the Railroad Industry
History:
At the beginning of World War II, the Railroad Evangelist Association called
for a National Day of Prayer for railway workers and their families. After
a letter had been sent out to the Presidents of railroad companies across
the United States, Canada and Mexico and every major newspaper in the United
States, Church denomination headquarter, Governors and members of Congress
along with many other railroad related companies the date was set for Sunday
March 22, 1942. * Millions of people world wide are employed by the Railroad industry and multiplied millions of people (just like you and me) are dependent upon these services, some each day. Therefore: Specific, united weekly prayer and intercession be made to God each Thursday morning (from whatever time zone you are in) between 7:00 – 8:00 AM. The reason for the time and day is a memorial to all those who lost their lives and suffered injuries in the Madrid, Spain terrorist attach that exploded bombs throughout the commuter railway system on Thursday morning, March 11, 2004; approximately between the hours of 7:00 and 8:00 AM.
